Buying vintage is difficult, so it was a pleasure when Moss teamed up with Topshop in 2007 to design garments inspired by her favorite looks (including the Dessès dress).

We thought vintage was wonderful and all, but premade was so much easier.

1. Blue17

They’re a retail and wholesale company that’s always focused on stocking the best vintage clothing available.

The wholesale company, which was founded in 1985, specialized in high-end American vintage and denim Levis 501 jeans.

Since 1994, the shop has been located at 162 Holloway Road in Islington, London.

Their philosophy has always been and continues to be to stock high-quality vintage apparel at the lowest possible prices, rather than profiting by charging the highest prices the market will bear.’

They decided to develop a true alternative to the growing malaise of mass marketing of poor quality vintage products and escalating prices due to the increasing commercialization of Notting Hill and Camden in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

They specialized in integrating new ideas into old fashion, like the ‘Indian’ style, in the mid-1990s, before Brick lane became popular, and they sourced massive amounts of dead-stock vintage from all over the world.

5. National Vintage League

A little packing tape, a couple of lovely shirts, and a little elbow grease went a long way.

They spent £300 on the coolest, authentic jerseys they could find and quickly launched NFL Vintage UK, which has accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

They wanted to develop a service for authenticating jerseys for fans in the United Kingdom, as eBay and similar sites were flooded with fakes. It was impossible to negotiate a good price or even know what you were buying.

They had no lofty goals or grand plans for the company, only a desire to connect with other sports enthusiasts through jerseys, enthusiasm, and niche 1990s culture.

Surprisingly (and to their surprise), there were a LOT of others out there who were EXACTLY like them.
